Building Healthy Connections
A New Program for Young Women This Fall
Relationships are a big part of our lives — from friends and family to romantic partners and coworkers. But let’s be honest: figuring out what makes a relationship healthy isn’t always simple. Past hurts, unclear boundaries, or even not fully knowing ourselves can make it hard to build the kind of connections we really want.
That’s where CONNECTED comes in — a new program launching at Mea Centre this fall to help women explore, understand, and grow in their relationships. Whether you’ve been through challenges or simply want to learn how to set yourself up for strong, respectful connections, CONNECTED gives you tools and space to do just that.
Why Healthy Relationships Matter
A healthy relationship is built on strong connection and mutual respect. It’s about understanding your worth, communicating well, and having boundaries that protect your emotional well-being. These skills aren’t just for romantic relationships — they shape friendships, family dynamics, and even your relationship with yourself.
The CONNECTED program uses five chapters to guide you through these important areas:
1. Your Identity
Before you can have healthy relationships with others, you need to know and value yourself. In this chapter, you’ll explore who you are, what matters to you, and how to stand strong in your values — even when the world sends mixed messages.
2. Your Past
Past experiences can act like invisible chains, holding us back from the healthy connections we deserve. Through reflection, you’ll see how even your scars can become part of a beautiful, stronger you.
3. Your Relationships
From self-care to evaluating your current connections, you’ll learn how to repair what’s broken and build what’s strong — in friendships, family ties, and romantic relationships.
4. Your Boundaries
Boundaries aren’t walls — they’re fences that protect your freedom. You’ll discover how to set, communicate, and maintain boundaries that create safe, respectful relationships.
5. Your Future
Dreams become reality when we set goals. This chapter helps you plant the seeds today for the kind of relationships and life you want tomorrow.
